Aiken Center for the Arts is offering an Artist in Residence Program for 4th grade students in the Aiken County Public School District through SC Arts Commission Arts in Education grant.
This 2-day residency introduces the contributions that enslaved African Americans brought to Edgefield and Aiken County in the 1800’s using naturally resourced clay. Through dialogue about the history of clay in South Carolina and hands-on experience, students create a face vessel. Offered at no cost.
